Somatic Experiencing

Embodiment is an important part of being alive. Many of us are cut off from the wisdom of our bodies and the flow of Life due to stress or personal, intergenerational, historical, cultural and collective trauma. Reconnecting with our bodies allows reconnection with intuition, aliveness and the interconnection of life. There are many ways to connect with embodiment. Whatever ways you would like to explore are welcome and celebrated.

 

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a modality that helps with embodiment and restoration from trauma. In SE we connect with the language and inherent wisdom of the body such that it can release stuck patterns and increase wellbeing. For example, after overwhelming experiences (either long term/chronic or a single event), parts of our being can get stuck in fight, flight, freeze or appease mode. Our bodies can help us metabolize experiences and transform them. By including Somatic Experiencing in our sessions, we can release held trauma/stress and increase resiliency. This makes space for more ease, authenticity, aliveness, wellbeing, and joy in your life. This work is holistic and integrative. I assist at the Somatic Experiencing training helping other providers learn Somatic Experiencing.
